Are Edgar Quero and Kyle Teel the White Sox catcher tandem of the future?

Have the Chicago White Sox found their catching duo of the future?

The White Sox have won seven of their last eight games since snapping a five-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory at home on August 31 against the New York Yankees. Their rookie catching duo of Edgar Quero and Kyle Teel have provided a big boost during that span, hitting a combined .271 with three home runs, three doubles and seven RBIs to go with eight runs. With their last two games in their series in Minnesota (September 3-4), Quero and Teel combined for 8-for-17 with two homers, two doubles and five RBIs to go with six runs in consecutive victories over their longtime rival. September 4 was extra special:

Both home runs by Quero and Teel were important in the context of those games too, as Quero’s solo shot to lead off the top of the second in the September 3 game helped the Sox claw back into the game, while Teel’s three-run shot in the seventh inning of the very next game helped tie the game, 7- 7, before the White Sox completes another comeback victory. The South Siders doing something they had never done in team history by having all seven of their victories in their last eight games being comebacks.

It’s one thing to have your two best hitters be rookies, and quite another (and even better) for them both to be thriving at the toughest and most important position on the field, catcher. For that spot to be set for the near future is an enormous step forward and the White Sox claw back to relevance.
