As the Dallas Cowboys continue to trend closer to a high draft pick than a playoff spot, the future of head coach Mike McCarthy looks bleaker by the week. While McCarthy has had to endure an endless amount of negative chatter surrounding his future with the team, he can’t feel good about what transpired on Friday night. The Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight took place on Friday at Jerry’s World, so not surprisingly, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was in attendance at AT&T Stadium. And from the sound of it, Jones is getting an earful from former wide receiver Michael Irvin. The topic of discussion? None other than current Colorado head football coach Deion Sanders.
Irvin sat with Jones and openly admitted that he plans to push for the Cowboys to hire Sanders. From the sound of it, he may already be in the middle of his pitch, as Pro Football Talk detailed. “Everybody loves Mike [Tyson], but everybody loves and respects Jake [Paul] also for what he’s done here. To have an ability to not go the normal route and still end up right here,” Irvin said.
“You give him respect. I give him respect like I give my great guy Deion Sanders, who didn’t go the normal route. Who I’m gonna be in Jerry’s ear about later. That’s just something else we’re talking about.”
