Braves News Chris Sale Shines While Atlanta’s Core Gets Surprising Rating and More Shocking Updates

The Atlanta Braves opened the series on a high note after Friday night’s 4-1 win over the Seattle Mariners. Chris Sale turned in an impressive start, throwing a dominant 6.2 innings of one-run ball. He gave up just four hits and struck out nine.

Offensively, things started to click for the Braves in the eighth inning, where they plated three runs. Ozzie Albies, Drake Baldwin, Ha-Seong Kim, and Matt Olson each recorded RBI.

Willson Contreras’ suspension has been reduced to four games on appeal. He originally faced a six game suspension for an incident against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

After returning for just nine games, the Texas Rangers placed Adolis Garcia on the 10-day injured list with a Grade 2 quad strain. The move is backdated to September 2.

The Detroit Tigers placed right-hander Kyle Finnegan on the 15-day injured list due to a right adductor strain.
