The Green Bay Packers have developed a strong reputation of developing undrafted talent, and if early returns are any indication, that trend is about to continue into 2025.
Beyond keeping Nazir Stackhouse on the roster, Packers rookie offensive lineman Barant Banks is generating some serious preseason buzz, ahead of Green Bay kicking off the regular season against the Detroit Lions.
Pro Football Focus Bullish on Packers’ Barant Banks

While wide receiver Matthew Golden’s strong preseason didn’t just raise the expectations for Green Bay’s aerial attack, with quarterback Jordan Love, but also became on of the storylines across the league, it is an undrafted rookie who may be the Packers’ biggest steal of the spring.
Banks, who signed with the Packers after going undrafted, was named to Pro Football Focus’ Preseason All-Rookie Team.
“During his three preseason appearances (in which he played 50 snaps),” Bradley Locker writes for PFF. “Banks generated a 76.8 overall PFF grade. The Rice product was consistently great in all three contests, allowing zero pressures on 21 opportunities. He also chipped in with a 69.3 PFF run-blocking grade.
“Green Bay returns Rasheed Walker (80.1 PFF pass-blocking grade) as its starting left tackle in 2025, but the Packers continue to churn out developmental pieces like Banks.”
The Packers’ offensive line still has some competition ahead of the regular season kicking off, but Banks looks capable of contributing meaningful snaps, if he’s pressed into action at some point as a rookie.
