Taylor Swift fans are spitting feathers after Matty Healy’s fiancée appeared to take a swipe at the newly engaged star.

The Bad Blood billionaire, 35, broke the internet last week when she announced that she and her boyfriend of two years, Travis Kelce, also 35, were getting married.

The Americana star was flooded with well wishes from fans congratulating her on her happy news.

However, Gabbriette Bechtel, 28, who is engaged to Taylor’s ex, Matty, 36, Healy, wasn’t one of them.

The Americana star was flooded with well wishes from fans congratulating her on her happy news. However, Gabbriette Bechtel, 28, who is engaged to Taylor’s ex, Matty, 36, Healy, wasn’t one of them.

Replying to the now deleted video, which included a bizarre take on Taylor’s new music, including her song entitled ‘Eldest daughter’, Gabbriette asked the performer to give her version of another song on Taylor’s album, Actually Romantic, replying: “Babe, please record Actually Romantic, please.”

In response, the Swifties soon flocked to Taylor’s defence as one replied: “I’m sorry but that entire group is and HAS been so obsessed with Taylor it’s getting actually weird now. What do you mean you’re out there so bothered by your fiancé’s ex that you’re talking about an UNRELEASED album. LIVING IN THEIR MINDS RENT FREE AND FOR SOME TIME NOW.”

Another quipped: “Gabbriette and her friends openly having one-sided beef with Taylor is so odd like…… Do u not have a wedding u could be planning right now?”

While a third mused: “Matty Healy’s fiancée is commenting in posts mocking Taylor’s new album How obsessed would one have to be to worry about an unreleased song?”

While Taylor is now set to waltz down the aisle with Travis, before they got together, The Life of a Showgirl star shared a romantic connection with the 1975 front-man Matty.

Following her break-up with actor Joe Alwyn in 2023, Taylor began dating Matty with their platonic friendship quickly turning romantic. However, after an acrimonious split only months later and several songs on Taylor’s The Tortured Poets Department album said to be about Matty, fans were keen to learn what really went on between the pair.

The songs Fresh Out the Slammer, Guilty As Sin?, I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can), and The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived are all believed to be about Matty, however Taylor has not confirmed these reports.

Responding to the album, two sources spoke to Us Weekly about The 1975 star’s reaction. One said that Matty got a heads-up from Taylor’s team about the album. He was “really appreciative” of that, the insider said, adding, “He was worried that their story would be shed in a negative light. [He had concerns] the public wouldn’t get the full story.”

“[He was] also very nervous about the Swifties [but is] happy he can move on with less anxiety,” the source explained. “Their relationship was fast, but extremely passionate and real.” The insider shared that while the former couple doesn’t “speak anymore, [they] had a strong bond.” Healy will “always hold a special place for her.”

In May 2024, Matty announced his engagement to Gabbriette after the pair were first spotted kissing in New York City in September 2023 – a few months after the son of Denise Welch – who recently said she was glad she didn’t have Taylor as a daughter-in-law – saw the end of his album-inspiring romance with the star.
