Cubs game Saturday against Rockies at Coors Field to start in weather delay

DENVER — The Cubs’ game against the Rockies at Coors Field on Saturday will start in a weather delay, the home team announced.

At the time of the announcement, about 50 minutes before the originally-scheduled 7:10 p.m. CT start time, the Rockies did not have a new time for first pitch. They later said the game was set to begin at 7:30 p.m. CT, with just a 20-minute day.

The Rockies covered the infield with a tarp before the rain began. And once the weather turned, they made a stadium announcement, asking fans to clear the upper deck, rockpile and upper rooftop because of lightning in the area.
