MLB NEWS: Sale named to All-MLB First Team in latest distinction of the ’24 season! 👏

His selection marks his second notable recognition of the evening.

Shortly after being named the 2024 National League Comeback Player of the Year, Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Chris Sale was named to the All-MLB First Team.

Sale posted one of the best seasons of his career with the Braves in 2024, winning the National League pitcher’s Triple Crown for most wins, strikeouts and lowest ERA for qualified starting pitchers.

The 35-year-old left-hander started 29 games for Atlanta and led the NL in multiple statistical categories. His 29 starts were the most he had made in a single season going back to 2017, his first year with the Boston Red Sox.

The All-MLB Awards began in 2019. Past Atlanta Braves to be First Team All-MLB honorees are Max Fried, Freddie Freeman and Marcell Ozuna (2020), Austin Riley (2021), and Riley, Ronald Acuña, Jr and Spencer Strider (2023).
