The camera was on Kyle Schwarber all night – even after the game had ended.

The Phillies star was the center of attention Thursday night in Philadelphia for two reasons. The first: He became the 21st player in MLB history to hit four home runs in a single game. Second: He filmed a scene for the sitcom “Abbott Elementary” on the field after the game.

According to The Athletic, Schwarber filmed a scene with actress Quinta Brunson to be included in an episode set at Citizens Bank Park.

The three-time All-Star is in the midst of a career year for the Phillies. He currently has a career-high 49 home runs, which leads the National League. You can watch all four of his home runs from Thursday’s game here.

Boston Red Sox fans should be familiar with Schwarber’s bat. The Red Sox acquired him at the 2021 trade deadline and played a big role in that team’s run to the ALCS.

Schwarber actually had a good chance to hit a fifth home run in the game, which would have been an MLB first. When the DH stepped to the plate in the eighth inning, the Atlanta Braves had sent infielder Vidal Bruján out to the mound to eat up inning in what had turned into a blowout.

Instead of making history, Schwarber popped out. Still, four home runs and a TV cameo makes for a pretty good night.
