2025 Cowboys Roster: Holden, Grier fill out practice squad

FRISCO, Texas — With plenty of action remaining in the mission to form the 53-man roster for the Week 1 battle against the Philadelphia Eagles, the initial depth chart officially landed following a massive round of cuts — albeit with some tweaks still to come — the Dallas Cowboys also got to work piecing together their practice squad for the 2025 season.

Each team is allowed to have 16 players on the practice squad, a 17th permitted only if the additional player qualifies for the International Pathway Program exemption, e.g., Denzel Daxon in 2024 and Isaac Alarcon prior to that instance.

Routinely, the Cowboys often build the unit based upon a large composition of players that were recently on their 90-man roster throughout training camp and the preseason, but it’s time to see if they stick with that formula to begin the Brian Schottenheimer era.

Schottenheimer pointed out, immediately following cuts, that the Cowboys are “open for business” and potentially not simply as it relates to placing claims on waived players, though they did add defensive backs Trikweze Bridges and Reddy Steward by that method on Tuesday. They also reunited with defensive end Isaiah Land, rounding out the list in the process.

Below is a running list of Cowboys’ signings to the practice unit on Tuesday, including at least one major training camp standout:

  • Jalen Brooks, WR
  • Traeshon Holden, WR
  • Earnest Brown IV, DT
  • Saahdiq Charles, OL
  • Geron Christian, OT
  • Alijah Clark, S
  • Jalen Cropper, WR
  • Malik Davis, RB
  • Rivaldo Fairweather, TE
  • Princeton Fant, TE
  • Will Grier, QB
  • Robert Rochell, CB
  • Kemon Hall, CB
  • Isaiah Land, DE
  • Adedayo Odeleye, DE (IPP Exemption)
  • Justin Barron, LB
  • Buddy Johnson, LB
