Ahead of Wednesday’s series finale in Toronto, the Minnesota Twins announced that they have returned right-handed pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson from his rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 15-day injured list.
He’s expected to start on Wednesday.
Woods Richardson was placed on the 15-day IL on Aug. 4 with an illness and he recently made two appearances (1 start) on rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul, allowing four runs (3 earned) on six hits (1 home run) in 5.1 innings pitched, with two walks and eight strikeouts.
He’s made 17 appearances (16 starts) for the Twins this season, going 5-4 with a 4.24 earned run average.
To make room on the 26-man roster, the Twins optioned pitcher Pierson Ohl to AAA-St. Paul.
One other roster note: Right-handed reliever Erasmo Ramírez has accepted his assignment to AAA-St. Paul. He was designated for release or assignment on Sunday.
