Cowboys’ initial 53-man depth chart for 2025

FRISCO, Texas — The entire NFL is one huge step closer to kicking off the 2025 regular season, each of the 32 teams, including the Dallas Cowboys having dwindled their offseason roster from a hefty 90 players down to a little more than half that number.

With the initial (key word) 53-man roster now set in Dallas, things begin to truly take shape for Brian Schottenheimer’s maiden voyage as the Cowboys’ newest head coach; and there aren’t a lot of curveballs that were thrown in the building of the team’s depth chart.

That, of course, isn’t to say there were none thrown at all — a slider having been mixed in here or there, one of which being a trade that sent 2023 fifth-round pick Asim Richards to Kellen Moore and the New Orleans Saints and veteran cornerback Israel Mukuamu having been released to free agency.

It was an intriguing list of cutdowns, and while there is still much to be sorted through over the next 2-3 days — e.g., any additional players heading to injured reserve after being carried on the active roster for the obligatory 24 hours to avoid ending their respective season — we can now take a first look at who finished the month of August by getting a nod from the Cowboys.
