2025 Roster Tracker: La’el Collins cut, more

FRISCO, Texas — With the preseason now in the books, one of the most difficult parts of the NFL calendar has arrived for the Dallas Cowboys’ front office, and those of each of the 32 teams around the league; and that’s the task of cutting down the roster ahead of the regular season.

The first headline move made by the Cowboys, on Sunday, transitioning Trevon Diggs from the active/PUP (physically unable to perform) list, where the All-Pro cornerback started this year’s training camp as he recovered from a season-ending knee injury, to the active roster to start the season.

It doesn’t guarantee he’ll be ready for the Week 1 clash against the Eagles in Philadelphia, but it does mean there’s a chance and, most importantly, that his roster seat is now occupied — balanced by the team’s decision to release La’el Collins after a second attempted reunion with the veteran offensive lineman in this year’s training camp.

Keep an eye on the tracker below, as it will be updated frequently, to understand the flurry of official transactions happening over the next couple of days as the 53-man roster is formed and, not long thereafter, the official practice squad.

And, needless to say, there will inevitably be some roster gymnastics involved as well — as per usual.

[Vested veterans, defined as those who have accrued at least four complete NFL seasons, are not subject to waivers at this time and are free to sign with any NFL team once released.]

Aiyuk’s “$70M? KEEP IT!” Loyalty Nuke: Snubs Jaw-Dropping Offer to Vow “I’ll Die a 49ers Legend”

In a moment that instantly ignited headlines across the league, Brandon Aiyuk delivered one of the most powerful and unexpected declarations of loyalty the modern NFL has witnessed. At a time when star players are chasing bigger contracts, larger guarantees, and increasingly aggressive market valuations, Aiyuk stood in front of cameras, reporters, and stunned executives and uttered the sentence no one saw coming: “Keep it. I will die a 49er legend.” Those words, simple yet seismic, hit the NFL landscape like a thunderbolt. According to team insiders, Aiyuk was presented with a blockbuster $70 million offer—an offer that analysts widely assumed would be the foundation of his long-term future, whether in San Francisco or another major franchise desperate for a top-tier offensive weapon. Yet Aiyuk didn’t even blink. Instead of leveraging the moment for negotiations, he used it to send a statement that transcended money, contracts, and the transactional nature of professional sports. What followed was a wave of NFL analysts left speechless, fans roaring across social media, and former players praising a decision that seemed to come from another era—an era when identity meant something, when legacy meant more than numbers on a page, and when players fought not only for championships but for the crest on their helmet.
