Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt is embracing the impact Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, has had on the NFL team and sport.
When asked to reflect on the past couple years as an owner, Hunt told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published on Friday, August 22, “The first thing to mention here is how happy we are for both Travis and Taylor in their relationship.”
“That’s the most important thing,” Hunt continued. “
It certainly has opened up an opportunity for us to connect with a new demographic from a fan standpoint.
I’m pretty sure that the Chiefs ranked No. 1 among NFL teams in the female demographic. From the time that Taylor started dating Travis, we’ve seen a big shift from approximately 50 percent male and female to now our fanbase in North America is 57 percent female, which is very unique among NFL teams.”
Hunt noted that Swift, 35 – who began dating the tight end, also 35, in summer 2023 – “clearly has had a big impact.” “I enjoyed seeing the ‘New Heights’ podcast and hearing her talk about her passion for the team,” he said, referring to Swift’s recent appearance on Travis and brother Jason Kelce’s podcast.
“She’s clearly not a casual fan. She’s gone all in, which is really great. Again, we couldn’t be more happy for their relationship and we’re happy to have Taylor as part of the Chiefs’ kingdom.”
Clark noted that there’s “usually a 100 percent focus on what is happening on the field” when the Eras Tour performer steps foot inside Arrowhead Stadium.
“When Taylor attends a game, there’s always a little bit of a spectacle going on in a suite somewhere in the building, which the networks have done a great job of capturing,” he said. “
But I know our fans really enjoy it and love having her there knowing that she’s such a great Chiefs fan. It does create a different energy when she’s in attendance.”
One day before Swift made her debut on the “New Heights” podcast, Travis pulled back the curtain on their relationship in a GQ profile and revealed that the pop star is embracing his lifestyle. ”
I sort of made her a football fan,” Travis said earlier this month. ”
She is the most engulfed fan now. She knows what the injury reports look like.
She understands what special situations are, third and short – all these things because she just naturally loves to hear about my job.”
Travis is gearing up for his 13th NFL season on the heels of his and Swift’s eventful summer – which made the pair stronger than ever.
“This time together solidified Taylor knowing that she wants to be with Travis forever,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in the latest cover story, while another added that the couple are “on the same page” when it comes to settling down. “They want to be married and have kids in the future,” the second insider said. “They’re both genuinely ready for that chapter.”
