Young Packers Defensive Playmaker Turning Heads Among Teammates
The Packers have high expectations for safety Javon Bullard.
Bullard, chosen in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, finished his rookie season with 90 total tackles, and one fumble recovery while playing some of his most dominant football down the stretch.
Javon Bullard Impressing Packers’ Teammates

As the 2025 season approaches, defensive back Keisean Nixon has been impressed by what he’s seen from Bullard so far this summer during training camp and the preseason.
“I think Bull’s taken a huge step this offseason,” Nixon said. “Not only playing nickel but also playing safety, communicating better…he’s grown a lot.”
Bullard’s versatility is going to help him continue to be a vital piece of the Packers’ defense, given that he has shown the ability to thrive alongside All-Pro safety Xavier McKinney and contribute as a slot cornerback.
“I love it. Now, I’m embracing it,” Bullard said recently, via the team’s official website. “Last year, to be honest with you, maybe I felt like it was a negative. Now I’m thinking of it like a positive.
“They don’t know where (number) 20 gonna line up.”
One thing seems certain; wherever Bullard is in the Packers’ defense, big plays are likely to follow.
