Destroyed in the Stands: One Fan’s Unexpected Takeaway from the Orioles Gam

This is not this particular fan getting tackled, but it is still funny.

As long as there has been large sporting events with massive crowds, there have been fans whose mission in life seems to be to ruin it for everyone. Sometimes, it is just morons running on to the field and only putting themselves in danger. Other times, it is far more serious and a danger to coaches as well as players. Unfortunately, we saw a classic case of the former during the Baltimore Orioles matchup against the Astros over the weekend.

During a series where most of the attention should have been on the Orioles’ recent call-ups and what had been a pretty hard fought series. Instead, the Orioles blowout win over the Astros was overshadowed by a fan running on to the field and juking security before getting absolutely laid out in shallow center field.

Fan learns the hard way that running on to the field is a poor life choice

First things first, no one should ever do this and those that do should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Putting players and officials’ safety in jeopardy simply cannot be tolerated at these big events and you get what you get if you decide to run on the field and put yourself at the mercy of security.

This particular field invader did run around for a while and successfully evaded security much to the delight of some fans on Reddit who couldn’t help but root for his escape. However, as he turned to exit the infield towards center, it almost looked like he hurt his hamstring or quad and in that moment, one security guard used textbook form to tackle the guy to the ground and make him regret his life choices.

Thankfully, it doesn’t seem like anyone else was hurt and after having the entire security staff at Daikin Park descend upon him, this particular fan probably will never make this mistake again assuming he is ever let into a stadium again. Unfortunately, common sense was not this fan’s strong suit and when you mess with a bull, you get the horns.
