Brian Robinson Jr. landing spots: Which teams would be the best trade fits for the Commanders running back? The Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys are among the top contenders, considering their current roster needs and past success with running backs. Would a trade to the Chiefs help Robinson Jr. thrive in a high-powered offense, or would the Cowboys’ strong offensive line provide him with the best opportunity to succeed? With the NFL trade deadline approaching, all eyes are on the Commanders to see if they’ll make a move and where Robinson Jr. will end up next. | Sporting News United Kingdom

2023 TOP PLAYS: Brian Robinson Jr. | Washington Commanders | NFL - YouTubeAs training camp comes to a close, the Commanders may be willing to move one of their bigger names on offense.

Jordan Schultz reports Washington has been shopping running back Brian Robinson Jr. as the cut date draws closer. The Commanders have one of the deeper running back rooms in the league, and with Robinson entering the final year of his deal, they may look to get something back instead of letting the contract play out.

Therefore, some running back-needy teams could get some reinforcements back in August to add some depth to their offense. Here’s a look at four teams that make sense as potential trade partners.

Brian Robinson Jr. landing spots

Kansas City Chiefs

Whenever a name becomes available at running back, the Chiefs will always get brought up, but Robinson does make sense for Kansas City. Currently, Isiah Pacheco leads a Chiefs backfield that also includes Kareem Hunt and Brashard Smith, but Robinson would give Kansas City a different, more physical element to their offense.

Chicago Bears

The Bears have D’Andre Swift at the top of their backfield, but the depth after that leads much to be desired. Roschon Johnson has been dealing with a foot injury of late, and the team’s third-stringer is seventh-rounder Kyle Monangai. Robinson could certainly beef up Chicago’s depth at the running back position.

Dallas Cowboys

It’s hard to see the Commanders and Cowboys making a trade, but Dallas has perhaps the thinnest running back room in the league. Dallas currently has Javonte Williams, Miles Sanders and Jaydon Blue as its running backs, and Robinson would instantly give the team a physical back who can fill the role as a lead in the running game.

Houston Texans

Joe Mixon has missed all of training camp, which has put the Texans’ running back depth chart in flux. While veterans Nick Chubb and Dameon Pierce are joined by rookie Woody Marks, Houston could add Robinson as a more steady option while Mixon is sidelined.

2. Austin Ekeler
3. Jeremy McNichols
4. Chris Rodriguez Jr.
5. Jacory Croskey-Merritt
6. Kazmeir Allen
7. Demtric Felton

Washington feels good about its running back room, which means the team could trade Robinson from the top of the depth chart. Ekeler has been a lead back before, while McNichols and Rodriguez return from last year’s team.

The key here, though, is Jacory Croskey-Merritt. The 24-year-old was a seventh-round pick in April, and the Commanders appear to be impressed by his performance this Summer.
