The Baltimore Ravens impressed Saturday, beating the Dallas Cowboys 31-13. They controlled all four quarters, displaying talent on both sides of the ball.
After the game, several players saw their stock rise, while others struggled or were outperformed. Here are three winners and two losers from Baltimore’s Week 2 preseason win.
Winner: Rasheen Ali
Second-year running back Rasheen Ali stood out as Saturday’s biggest winner. He displayed quickness, outstanding vision, and gained 62 yards on 19 carries. Though his average of 3.3 yards per carry does not seem ideal, many plays were blown up by the Cowboys’ defensive line.
More notable than Ali’s strong game was Harbaugh’s praise afterward. He commended Ali’s explosiveness, vision, and big-play ability, and noted the team’s plan to keep four running backs on the roster. That all but guarantees Ali a spot.

Loser: Trenton Simpson
Trenton Simpson is once again being handed the key to the second starting linebacker spot on the defense in 2025, but has once again failed to take command on the field. It is only the preseason, but he has been getting outplayed by two rookies at linebacker.
Undrafted rookie Jay Higgins was once again a factor against the Cowboys, flying to the ball and showcasing an elite instinct to find the ballcarrier. He contributed to another turnover, stripping Dallas quarterback Will Grier on a sack, which was recovered by fellow undrafted signing Kaimon Rucker.
2025 fourth-round pick Teddye Buchanan also impressed. Like Higgins, he was electric in pursuit, disrupted the line, and was tight in coverage.
Simpson was not bad, but as a third-year player, he should dominate preseason opponents. He will start Week 1, but has yet to distance himself from the competition.
Winner: Keyon Martin
The Ravens started rookie corner Keyon Martin on Saturday night, and he did not disappoint. He made an immediate impact on the Cowboys’ opening drive, delivering a tackle for loss deep in their territory, then sacking quarterback Joe Milton III for a safety on the very next play.
He was also strong in coverage. He allowed just one reception on the night and made plays in the open field to keep Dallas’ offense from moving the chains. The 24-year-old has a tough road to the 53-man roster, but Baltimore must figure out how to keep him around, even if it is just on the practice squad.
Loser: T.J. Tampa
Corner T.J. Tampa has high expectations going into year two, especially after Baltimore lost rookie corners Bilhal Kone and Robert Longerbeam for the season. He is a crucial depth piece in 2025. However, his performance against Dallas was lackluster.
The former Iowa State Cyclone was picked on in coverage. He was burnt for two big plays, and although he made a nice no-look pass breakup, he once again failed to get his eyes turned to the football in time—a recurring issue thus far.
Tampa’s lack of recovery speed has been a concern early in his career, and it was evident again Saturday.
Winner: Devontez Walker
Ravens fans have eagerly awaited a Devontez Walker breakout. He has impressed in training camp since his rookie year, but has yet to put it together on the field. Against the Cowboys, he finally had his statement game.
Walker made six catches on eight targets for 61 yards. He served as the primary option early, hauling in the team’s first five completions. The former North Carolina Tar Heel displayed strong hands and excellent concentration through tight coverage.
He was Baltimore’s MVP throughout camp, but finally delivering under the lights has now made Walker impossible to ignore as the team heads into the regular season.
