Rashee Rice news makes Ravens’ Week 4 test against Chiefs even harder

Baltimore Ravens fans definitely have the Week 4 match-up against the Kansas City Chiefs circled on their calendars. The two will square off on on September 28th in the late window that day but unfortunately for the Ravens, their chances of taking down the Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium took a hit with the latest update.

According to Adam Schefter, Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice’s hearing is scheduled for September 30th (two days after the Ravens/Chiefs game), making him eligible to play when these two squads meet up for the Week 4 showdown. This is huge for Kansas City but is a rather unfortunate update for the Ravens.

Rashee Rice will likely be eligible to play vs. Ravens in Week 4

The Chiefs selected Rice in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft and he finished his rookie year with just under 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns. He looked to be on his way to another impressive season with KC in Year 2 but suffered a knee injury early in the season. That injury sidelined him for the remainder of the Chiefs’ 2024 season but he’s healthy and ready to go for this year.

The Ravens opened their 2024 season against the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium and lost by a toe (literally, as strange as that is to type and probably to read). These games have become so intense because of the rivalry between these two teams (even with them being in different divisions) and that revved up even more when the Chiefs came into M&T Bank Stadium and beat the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game in the 2023 season.

Rice absolutely ate against the Ravens secondary in that Week 1 opener a season ago, tallying seven receptions and 103 yards and averaging 14.7 yards a catch. So yeah, having to go up against him along with Xavier Worthy and Travis Kelce isn’t going to be a fun afternoon for the Ravens defense.

That being said, Rice won’t be the first or the last talented player the Ravens have to slow down so this is simply practice for when they get into the playoffs and only see superstars. To be the best, you have to beat the best and this will be an excellent test for the Ravens early in the season.
