The Atlanta Braves dropped Tuesday’s matchup against the New York Mets, 13-5, as Spencer Strider’s recent slump lingered. The right-hander struggled to find his command early, allowing his first run of the night by the second inning. Trouble returned in the middle innings, with New York stringing together timely hits to push the lead. Strider finished with eight earned runs on eight hits over four frames, striking out two and walking two. It was his fourth consecutive start allowing multiple runs.
While Matt Olson’s RBI and Nacho Alvarez Jr.’s multi-hit game gave Atlanta hope, the early deficit proved too much. The Braves will look for a bounce-back both from Strider and the lineup as the series continues tonight at 7:10 ET.
