New York Jets defensive tackle Jay Tufele (78) sacks Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (10) during their football game Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Many different coaches across the league and executives were interviewed as well about each starting quarterback in the NFL. Love is one of those quarterbacks who is viewed in the Top 15 as the 2025 season begins. Green Bay finished with an 11-6 record in 2024 before losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the wild card round. There are some strengths with Love, but there also could be some concerns with him as well.

There were many different takes about the Packers starting quarterback across the league. Love is listed as a Tier-2 quarterback by The Athletic and he is ranked #13 as the 2025 season begins. One defensive coach said about Love,

“When we faced him last year, I felt like if you could get to him, you could rattle him. He distributes the ball, and they have big skill (players who are) tough to bring down. That is how he makes his hay. I do not watch him and think, ‘Oh, he is f—ing people up.’”

Well, he did not have some good performances in certain instances during the 2024 season. Love did miss a couple of games because of injury. He completed 63.1% of his passes for 3,389 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Love also rushed for 83 yards on 25 carries and one touchdown, along with averaging 3.3 yards per carry.

He is more of a pocket quarterback than a scrambling quarterback. Will Love use his legs more in the Packers offense in 2025? It remains to be seen what head coach Matt LaFleur will draw up for him. In order for Love to be better, he will need to cut out some of the wrecklessness as well. Green Bay lacked having a go-two number one wide receiver last season.

This is why they drafted wide receiver Matthew Golden from the Texas Longhorns in the first-round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Golden has the chance to be Love’s number one target, or it could potentially be tight end Tucker Kraft. What are the odds that was either a divisional rival coach or a Philadelphia Eagles coach who made these comments?

Green Bay lost twice to Philadelphia, the Detroit Lions, and the Minnesota Vikings last season. They also lost to the Chicago Bears as well. Green Bay was 1-5 in divisional play in the NFC North. If Love plays well, maybe the Packers will be a serious Super Bowl contender this season.
