Madden NFL 26 has already released ratings for players, including those for the Green Bay Packers. Rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden got his as well, garnering an unimpressive overall rating of 76. That’s understandable, given that he’s yet to play a single game in the NFL.
However, there are great takeaways from his rating. For one, Golden’s speed gets a 91, and his acceleration a 97.
But one thing fans have taken an issue with regard to Golden’s Madden NFL 26 persona is his physical appearance.
Green Bay Packers, NFL fans react to rookie WR’s Madden NFL 26 look

Fans made sure to let their thoughts be known on how they felt Madden 26 NFL 26 butchered Golden’s look. Others can’t seem to accept the hairline of Golden’s virtual version.
“That’s Matthew Silver,” posted an account on X.
Another one said: “Why do the keep using that trash ass hairline on players????”
From a commenter: “The Madden creators clearly have it out for the Packers. From biased ratings to this latest clown show, it’s painfully obvious they’re not fans.
”
“Made my boy look like Temu Roddy Ricch,” a social media user posted.
Via a different commenter: “Nah Yall Played With This [expletive] Here!! @MatthewGolden_ they gone see this year tho young bull
#GoPackGo”
Said another: “[Expletive] you @EAMaddenNFL”
At the end of the day, it’s what Golden can do on the actual field that will matter more to Green Bay. He can impress people this Saturday, as the Packers host the New York Jets at Lambeau Field for a Week 1 preseason assignment.
Selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft, Golden had 987 receiving yards and nine touchdowns on 58 catches through 16 games in his 2024 season with the Texas Longhorns.
