“I don’t know what made me do it,” he said. “But one day I’d hung up and I’m sittin’ there goin’, ‘Hmmm, I wonder if these things call out.’ So I pick up the phone and I hit—what do you normally— you hit 9, right? Gives you an outside line. I hit 9, got a dial tone, I called my house.”

The interview then cuts to Jennifer Montana, who glows as she adds, “He goes, ‘I’m calling you to say I love you.’”

The athlete later shared that he looked for an outboud phone in every stadium in which he played, hoping to call his wife.

Fans couldn’t get enough of the lovebirds’ story, rushing to the comments section to join the conversation.
