The Chicago Cubs are already a really good baseball team.
But when the All-Star break ends, they’ll be behind the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central. And that will surely spark some trade deadline action.

The Talkin’ Baseball crew predicts the Cubs to end up with a couple of stars.
They’ve got both Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez and Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase ending up in Chicago.
Suarez is having an incredible season, with 31 homers already. He was hit by pitch in the All-Star Game but stayed in and seemingly is fine.
Clase struggled in the early going but has found his groove of late with his 99 mile per hour cutter.

Suarez seems highly likely to be traded, with the Yankees another prime candidate to land him.

Clase is less certain to be dealt. His contract has a few more years on it, so Cleveland could opt to hold him, especially if the Guardians get hot out of the break against a weak schedule.
The Cubs would surely take either of these players. And if they could get both, that’d be a coup.
