Braves make Ronald Acuña Jr. trade decision with 3 weeks until deadline

The Atlanta Braves aren’t planning to shock baseball ahead of the MLB trade deadline.

According to FanSided’s Robert Murray, the Braves don’t plan to trade anyone who they have under contract beyond this season.

That removes the craziest name floated in trade speculation of late: Ronald Acuña Jr.

The Braves have Acuña under contract for 2026 at $17 million, then have team options at that same dollar total for both 2027 and 2028. Those are immense values for one of the best players in baseball.

Sure, Acuña has dealt with a couple serious knee injuries, but he’s so darn good when he’s on the field.

This season, he missed Atlanta’s first 50 games but is back and batting .336 with 11 homers.

Still just 27 years old, Acuña should have a number of stellar years ahead of him.

He’s a career .291 hitter with 176 homers and a .912 OPS across eight years with the Braves.

And based on this latest report, it seems like Acuña will be the face of the franchise in Atlanta for years to come still.
