Travis Kelce reveals one of his first DMs to Taylor Swift which helped start their romance

NFL superstar Travis Kelce has revealed the first message he sent to pop star girlfriend Taylor Swift at the very start of their relationship.

Since rumours of Swift and Kelce’s relationship began circulating at the end of last year, they have undoubtedly become one of the biggest celebrity relationships in recent years.

The pop singer is often seen supporting her partner while he competes in the NFL matches for the Kansas City Chiefs, while the tight end has featured in some of Swift’s concerts during her Eras tour of concerts.

And now, some of the details of how the pair’s relationship began has emerged, including the very first message that Kelce sent to Swift

Although rumours that Kelce and Swift had began dating started in the summer of 2023, the American footballer didn’t speak publicly about the relationship until later in the year, when he confirmed the first message he sent to the pop star.

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show in September 2023, Kelce revealed that he told the singer: “I’ve seen you rock the stage at Arrowhead [Stadium]. You might have to come see me rock the stage at Arrowhead and see which one’s a little more lit.

“I threw it out there, I threw the ball in her court.”

At the time, he did not comment about whether the pair had already met in person, but told American talk show host McAfee that he was excited to see where the relationship would go.

He added: “We’ll see what happens in the near future.”

Three days later, Swift accepted Kelce’s invitation and attended the match in Kansas City, and the pair were spotted leaving the Arrowhead Stadium together.

Speaking about the game and the experience of dating Swift on his New Heights podcast, Kelce said: “I’m on the roller coaster, the roller coaster of life. Yeah, I notice a few things [are different], like paparazzi outside my house.”

“Shout-out to Taylor for pulling up. That was pretty ballsy, that was pretty ballsy, yeah. I just thought it was awesome how everyone in the suite had nothing but great things about her, you know the friends and family. She looked amazing.

“So, shout-out to Taylor for coming through and seeing me rock the stage.”
