BREAKING NEWS: Cowboys Urged To Trade Dak Prescott For One Ridiculous Reason

The Dallas Cowboys have reloaded their roster and specifically their offense around Dak Prescott but a new trade prediction has the team moving on from him as soon as this season if things go South.

Dallas Cowboys Urged To Trade Dak Prescott For One Ridiculous Reason - Athlon Sports

FRISCO — Many wondered about Dak Prescott’s future this time a year ago when the Dallas Cowboys had not yet committed an extension to their franchise quarterback.

Their intentions were never truly in doubt though the deal did not get done until hours before the regular season kicked off.

Coming off an injury that cut his campaign short Prescott is set to enter the first year of that massive extension.

However, people are still convinced the Cowboys want to trade their franchise quarterback.

Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay warned that the Cowboys could be major sellers ahead of the trade deadline this fall if they start to sputter early in the season. Such a scenario would mean the team moving on from Prescott altogether.

“Given how desperate ownership is to make it back to the biggest stage—it’s been three decades since Dallas reached the NFC Championship Game, let alone represented the conference on Super Bowl Sunday—and a potential replacement for Prescott waiting in the wings with the recently acquired Joe Milton III, it may not be long before the Cowboys elect to initiate a roster overhaul.

“If Dallas stumbles out of the gate and is well out of contention by mid-October, expect this once-proud organization to start selling off pieces and load up on assets to retool with in the 2026 offseason under another coaching regime.”

For one, it would take an extraordinary failure across the board for the Cowboys to move on entirely from this core and coaching staff after 2025. Writing off Brian Schottenheimer and this group before one game is just plain silly.

More importantly, the Cowboys have no plans to move on from Prescott. Despite the huge contract extension and the moves to strengthen this offense, those outside The Star continue to toss this idea around.

The Cowboys want to break through and get back to the conference championship and eventually a Super Bowl. Many continue to miss the point that Prescott is their investment to achieve those goals, whether it pays off or not.

A trade for Joe Milton does not change that nor should a rough start change that (for now).

Despite the wish-casting for Dallas to abandon an arguable top 10 quarterback, it’s not happening. Prescott remains the center of the franchise moving forward and there is no challenge to status with the team.
