HOT NEWS: Snarky Red Sox fan tweets aged like milk after Braves’ Chris Sale injury shocker

New York Mets v Atlanta Braves

Red Sox fans: they’re simply so funny! After trading Rafael Devers somewhat inexplicably (or, at least, suddenly), Boston fans have been in freakout mode, bemoaning their lot in life.

Of course, their team has also been on a consistent heater, going 3-1 so far in the post-Devers era and rolling right along.

If you’re into maintaining your superstars and giving fans a reason to connect with a consistent group of players on the field, then yes, Red Sox fandom isn’t for you – Devers, Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts, and Chris Sale have all been unceremoniously cleared out in recent years.

But if you’re more into winning championships? Boston fans racked up four between 2004-2018 after claiming they’d sell their souls for just one. Not such a bad life.

These days, in their seventh year without a title, Boston fans can’t seem to appreciate their budding core or growing pains. Instead, you’ll find them on Twitter complaining about every single little thing that’s gone wrong with their roster since their most recent ring. Let go of a grudge? Imagine!

That’s why you’ll find them in the Atlanta Braves’ mentions every time Sale pulls off a superhuman feet. If they were still capable of being humbled, though, it would’ve happened on Saturday afternoon.

Sale was placed on the 15-Day IL with a fractured rib, more than likely suffered on his spectacular diving play in a Braves victory over the Mets on Wednesday. And let’s check the tweet … who’s spamming the replies? Oh, right, Sox fans complaining that Sale’s … body has become less brittle in Atlanta? World’s tiniest violin for you folks.

Is there anything the city of Boston won’t dump their pants over?

Check the replies. Over and over again. Bostonians angry over a hypothetical scenario they’ll never be able to prove.

“He would’ve exploded if he was wearing a Sox uniform!”

“How do you know that?”

“…Nomar!!!”

Anyway, laugh all you want, Boston, because … Sale did get hurt. Might’ve happened in a Boston jersey. Did happen in a Braves uni. Because your GM has poor personnel evaluation skills and even worse people skills. Tweet about that.
