We told you that the saga between the Diamond Sports Group and Major League Baseball wasn’t going to simply end with Diamond switching out which gambling company’s name would be on their regional sports networks. Indeed, the saga continued on Friday afternoon as both Major League Baseball and the Atlanta Braves delivered a formal objection to Diamond Sports Group’s bankruptcy plans. While nothing is changing for the time being, it’s still pretty significant that the Atlanta Braves themselves have chosen to get involved in the court battle. This doesn’t affect us fans since the TV network is still there but for those of you who are interested in the business of baseball, things have definitely gotten even juicier.

Preston Mattingly has been promoted to the General Manager role for the Philadelphia Phillies. Mattingly is the son of Don and now he’ll be reporting directly to Dave Dombrowski.
Speaking of the Phillies, their owner is pretty confident that not only is Juan Soto not going to Philadelphia, he’s probably going to New York? Which New York team? Nobody knows yet.
