Patrick Mahomes Lands at No. 1 in CBS Sports Player Rankings

Pete Prisco revealed his rankings of the top 100 players in the NFL for CBS Sports this week, and for the third-straight season, quarterback Patrick Mahomes landed at No. 1.

Here’s a portion of what Prisco wrote about Mahomes:

“…Mahomes is still the best player in the NFL, which is why he is No. 1 in my annual ranking of the league’s top 100 players. Quibble with his numbers all you want, he would still be the first player picked in any open draft.”

Mahomes was one of six Chiefs to land in Prisco’s rankings, joining center Creed Humphrey (No. 16), defensive tackle Chris Jones (No. 18), cornerback Trent McDuffie (No. 46), offensive guard Trey Smith (No. 75) and tight end Travis Kelce (No. 96).

Now entering his eighth season as the Chiefs’ primary starter (and his ninth overall), Mahomes leads the NFL in passing yards (32,068) and passing touchdowns (245) since 2018 while leading Kansas City to the most regular-season (90) and playoff (17) wins of any team in that span.

He also owns the most passing yards (32,352) and passing touchdowns (245) through a player’s first 112 games in NFL history, and now entering his eighth campaign as the Chiefs’ starter, Mahomes will have an opportunity to build on his already immense resume.
