LONGVIEW, Texas (KETK) — San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle and former Longview great Trent Williams was back in East Texas Saturday to hold his annual elite camp at Lobo Stadium.
Williams, who’s preparing for his 16th season in the NFL, said he’s played against kids who attended his camp during his time in the NFL.

Williams said Longview Football means the world to him and he’s glad he can mentor these younger players coming up and help them get closer to their goal of playing at the next level and in the pros.
“To be on this field knowing that this is where it all started for me…to watch them in a process that was long ago for me but it seems like it was yesterday, you know, it means everything and it gives me a deeper appreciation knowing that this is what made me and I’m watching it make these kids and seeing how tough they compete. Just seeing the tenacity that they play with, the competitiveness, you know, it does a lot for me,” Williams said.
“It’s really an inspiration, you know, it makes me have more confidence in myself knowing that he came from the same place I’m trying to go and get where I’m trying to go. He’s already there. He’s a big role model in Longview so he’s helped me out a lot,” Longview freshman wide receiver and defensive back Dequaylon Carter said.
