Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season was a hectic one, especially for popular sideline reporter Erin Andrews. As part of Fox’s top broadcast team, Andrews was on the scene for the Detroit Lions 24-14 victory over the Green Bay Packers, with the weather conditions at Lambeau Field being rainy and windy all day long. As if enduring the brutal rain and wind wasn’t bad enough, Andrews found herself in the middle of a controversy when meteorologist Sam Kuffel accused her of making up the weather report for the game. Andrews has denied doing so, and offered to show Kuffel where she got the report if she wants to see.
All eyes have been on Andrews throughout the week to see if she would face any discipline for the incident. It doesn’t seem like Fox is too concerned about the incident, and according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, Andrews is slated to be part of the broadcast team for the Chicago Bears-Green Bay Packers Week 11 contest. Not to get ahead of ourselves here … but word is Fox will be sending the A-crew to Soldier Field for the #Bears#Packers game at Soldier Field in Week 11 on Nov. 17.
Kevin Burkhardt, Tom Brady & Erin Andrews will be on the call. — Brad Biggs (@BradBiggs) November 8, 2024 The NFC North clash between the Bears and Packers could be a big one in terms of playoff repercussions, especially considering how competitive the entire division has been. With the stakes being big and this rivalry being one of the best in NFL history, it makes sense that Fox wants their best squad to work this game. The fact that Fox is already making plans for Andrews to work in Week 11 indicates that she won’t face any sort of punishment for this incident, which shouldn’t be all that surprising since the weather conditions in Green Bay appeared to be miserable as she described them.
Andrews will be working alongside Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady on the San Francisco 49ers-Tampa Bay Buccaneers game in Week 10, and assuming all goes to plan over the next few days, she will be heading out to Chicago for this big Week 11 matchup.
