Former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph Jr. has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated related to a fatal crash that took place on Saturday morning in Dallas, Texas.
A 27-year-old woman Plano, Texas, named Cody Morris died Saturday morning after being involved in a crash while driving her motorcycle on North Central Expressway near Park Boulevard. The Richardson Police Department was called to the scene before 5:00 a.m. and found Morris dead. No vehicles were around. But the police received a phone call around 5:30 a.m. from Joseph, who told them he was driving his BMW sedan and had been involved in a crash with a motorcycle.
Based on the phone call, police believed that Joseph was intoxicated. He has been charged with driving while intoxicated and collision involving personal injury or death.
Joseph was a second-round pick (No. 44 overall) by the Cowboys in 2021. He spent two seasons with the Cowboys and then was traded to the Dolphins for the 2023 season, but they later released him. He kicked around with several other NFL teams and is currently a part of the UFL’s DC Defenders.
In 2022, Joseph was named as a person of interest in a murder investigation, though two other men ended up being arrested in connection with the matter.
