BREAKING: Cowboys Should Take Chance on Quarterback Written Off as Draft Bust

Philadelphia Eagles v Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys fans have a reason for optimism heading into the 2025 season.

Aside from getting a healthy Dak Prescott, the team added one of the most talented receivers in the league when opting to trade for George Pickens.

The receiver hopes to be the final piece in what should be a great Dallas offense. If there is one position Dallas still needs to find depth for, it is the quarterback position.

While Prescott is set to return, the only other notable name on the Dallas roster is Will Grier.

The backup isn’t the worst second option, but it wouldn’t be a shock to see the team search for an upgrade.

With every team carrying three quarterbacks in the regular season, the Cowboys are likely to add at least two options at the position. With this in mind, one noted draft bust could become a potential reclamation project for the Cowboys.

Former Division Rival Jake Fromm is the Perfect Depth Signing for the Dallas Cowboys

With an underwhelming lack of options on the quarterback market, the Cowboys are going to be forced to take a risk. One potential fit could be former New York Giants quarterback Jake Fromm.

The Georgia product has bounced around the league, not having the success he was believed to be poised for at the next level.

While Fromm was never a top prospect, there was a level of belief that the quarterback would turn into a serviceable backup.

The opposite has been the case thus far with the infamous quarterback sneak play becoming the defining moment of Fromm’s limited reps.

Still, there is a reason to believe Fromm can be a useful backup with the right group of weapons around him. At his best, Fromm is capable of playing point guard and keeping an offense afloat for a game or two.

This is the only expectation the Cowboys should have in the potential signing.

It also isn’t the only player the team should add to the position, having Grier, Fromm, and a third option competing for the two spots behind Prescott. It is a move the team can easily pivot away from if it doesn’t work, as they did with Trey Lance already this offseason.

No question, the Cowboys need more depth and competition at quarterback behind Prescott and Milton, and Fromm at least offers you the chance to find your third option.
