America’s Sweethearts, the Netflix docuseries about the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, will debut its second season June 18, the streamer announced Thursday.
The show, directed by Greg Whiteley, also behind Cheer and Last Chance U, will again follow the cheerleaders from auditions and training camp to the end of the NFL season, “giving viewers unfiltered access into this iconic team and franchise,” the announcement said.
Season 1 premiered last summer and quickly became a hit, spending four weeks on Netflix’s weekly global Top 10 English TV list and staying in the Top 10 U.S. TV shows for 5 weeks straight, according to the announcement. The show ultimately reached the Top 10 TV list in 27 countries around the world.
Netflix is also producing a Dallas Cowboys docuseries called America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys, which the streamer describes as the “definitive story of the Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones’ impact on NFL history.” That show is slated to be released this summer.
