Patrick Mahomes Makes Strong Statement After Big Chiefs News

After winning back-to-back Super Bowls in 2024, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs couldn’t pull off the first-ever three-peat in 2025, falling to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

Even with the loss, the Mahomes-led Chiefs have created one of the best dynasties the NFL has ever seen. Since the former Texas Tech quarterback took over the starting role in 2018, Kansas City has played in five Super Bowls, winning three.

In celebration of the recent dynasty, ESPN revealed a new original series on Tuesday called “The Kingdom.” The six-episode docuseries will likely premiere later in 2025 on ESPN and Disney+.

Per the Chiefs’ official website, the docuseries will “explore the franchise’s indelible and distinctive place in the NFL’s landscape for more than six decades of history while offering an exclusive, revealing chronicle of the team’s extraordinary 2024 season.”

Mahomes helped ESPN unveil the new series at Disney Upfront 2025, which shows future projects the entertainment company has planned. The quarterback took center stage at the event to announce the new original.

“Last season, the Kansas City Chiefs gave ESPN unfiltered access to our lives, on and off the field,” Mahomes said. “The result is an incredible six-episode series called The Kingdom that showcases the true heart of our great city, the team, and what it takes to be a member of the Kansas City Chiefs.”

The two-time NFL MVP went on to share more details about what the new series will cover.

“We dive into the history and legacy of the franchise, from the early days in Texas all the way to our third-straight Super Bowl appearance,” Mahomes added. “And nobody captured all of that better than ESPN.

“It was an honor to be a part of this incredible project, and I can’t wait for all of you to see it.”
