The Milwaukee Brewers incited trade rumors when they declined Devin Williams’ club option, allowing him to enter the final year of arbitration on his contract.

Williams has been a staple in the Milwaukee bullpen for the last few years, but he’s been notorious for collapsing in the postseason.

With so many holes to fill in Milwaukee, there’s potential that they deal him this offseason.

Bleacher Report’s Zachary Rymer agrees. Rymer recently listed the top 10 trade destinations for the All-Star closer with the Los Angeles Dodgers being among those teams listed.

“The Dodgers have had a revolving door at closer ever since Kenley Jansen left town after 2021. If they’d rather have something solid there, they could do worse than Williams,” Rymer wrote.

But Rymer doesn’t stop making the connections at the Dodgers. In fact, they’re just one of the ten teams that he lists, with the Toronto Blue Jays also finding their way on the list. “The Blue Jays had the worst bullpen in baseball this season, so they can’t think that simply getting Romano back from elbow surgery will solve everything,” Rymer wrote.

“But is now a good time for them to make a deal for a rental closer?”

Both the Blue Jays and the Dodgers likely have bigger fish to fry this offseason. But, if Williams is available and they have the prospect capital to deal from, why not make an additional big move?
