Former Red Sox first baseman Bobby Dalbec has a new home after signing a minor league deal with the Brewers.
Milwaukee assigned him to Triple-A Nashville.
The White Sox designated Dalbec for assignment May 4. He elected free agency two days later after he cleared through waivers and Chicago outrighted him.
The 29-year-old went 4-for-18 (.222) with a .333 on-base percentage, .278 slugging percentage, one double, one RBI, two runs, three walks and six strikeouts in seven games for the White Sox after beginning the season with their Triple-A affiliate, Charlotte.
Dalbec was a Red Sox 2016 fourth round draft pick out of Arizona. He had an .819 OPS, 33 homers, 24 doubles, five triples, 94 RBIs, 63 runs, 38 walks and 195 strikeouts in 156 games for Boston in 2020-21.
But he lost his starting first base job with Boston during a disappointing 2022 season. He batted just .198 with a .269 on-base percentage, .330 slugging percentage and .599 OPS in 175 games (499 plate appearances) for Boston from 2022-24. He then signed a minor league deal with the White Sox this past offseason.
