Red Sox Vs. Royals Lineups: Nick Sogard Makes Season Debut

The Red Sox will look to bounce back from a disappointing loss in their series opener to the Kansas City Royals on Friday, returning to Kauffman Stadium with a new look lineup Saturday.

Nick Sogard will be inserted, becoming the latest to try and provide relief at first base.

Boston swapped out utility fielders before the game, recalling Sogard after placing Romy Gonzalez on the injured list. Red Sox manager Alex Cora elected to swap out his catchers, as well, with Carlos Narvaez entering for Connor Wong. Wilyer Abreu and Trevor Story will also swap spots in the lineup, with the latter sliding up one spot.

Garrett Crochet will take the mound for Boston, while Cole Ragans makes the start for Kansas City in what is sure to be a pitching duel.

The Red Sox and Royals are scheduled to take the field at 7:10 p.m. ET. NESN will have full coverage beginning at 6 p.m. ET.
