And the head coach has made a non-negotiable change behind the scenes.
The 51-year-old has changed the positions of his Dallas Cowboys players’ lockers.
And he has placed Dak Prescott right next to Micah Parsons in the center of the room.
The move is seemingly designed to establish the pair as leaders of the team.
Schottenheimer confirmed the decision was made between him and his coaching staff, without player input.
“We moved some guys around,” the Cowboys coach said.
“This year, I did, along with the help of the staff.
“They don’t really get a say in that, but there’s a method to the madness.
“I think when the guys went into the team room for the first time, I made them all stand up after they sat down.
“I let them sit down and I had them stand up and move seats.

“Why? It’s a new year. It’s 2025. We’ll do that in 2026, we’ll do that in 2027 and beyond.
“When you start a new year, do something different. Change something up.
“It’s something that’s talked about, thought about, but there’s a method to the madness at times.”
Defensive superstar Parsons is yet to agree to a new contract with the team.
Parsons is headed into the final year of his rookie deal in 2025.

He is seeking a new contract worth in excess of $40 million a season.
Owner Jerry Jones publicly revealed an offer had been sent to Parsons’ camp.
Cowboys icon Tony Romo told The U.S. Sun he thinks there’s a “great chance” a new deal will be agreed.
“The Cowboys are not in the business of letting great players leave the building,” he said.
“I think you’ll see Micah sign a long-term contract soon and both sides will be happy.”
