Star tight end George Kittle has already secured the bag he was looking for this offseason with the San Francisco 49ers, who signed him to a four-year, $76.4 million contract extension. With that part already done, the Niners still have at least one more major contract negotiation to deal with, particularly concerning that of quarterback Brock Purdy.
Like Kittle, Purdy entered the offseason looking for a significant pay raise after earning just under a million dollars in the 2024 NFL season.
Amid the contract talks, Purdy and his wife, Jenna, are seemingly still in good spirits. Jenna even shared photos on Tuesday showing her preparing tacos and Brock enjoying them.

San Francisco 49ers’ Brock Purdy still looking to hit pay dirt via contract extension

Purdy, who was the last player taken overall in the 2022 NFL draft, seized the opportunity to start under center for the 49ers in his rookie season after injuries sidelined quarterbacks Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo. So far in his NFL career, the 25-year-old Purdy has passed for 9,518 yards and 64 touchdowns against 27 interceptions through 40 games.
Even though he’s yet to get a new contract, Purdy still showed up at the Niners’ voluntary OTAs last week.
“That’s Brock,” general manager John Lynch said (h/t Sports Illustrated). “He’s a pro. Brock’s very clear-minded and not going to let other people influence what he should be doing. And that’s one thing everybody I think respects about Brock. He’s done a lot for this organization and we’re grateful for him and looking forward to having him as our quarterback for a long time.”
Under his current contract, Purdy has a base salary of $5.346 million in the 2025 NFL season, a big raise from his aforementioned pay in 2024, but that’s still far from the money many other starters are getting.
