Travis Kelce is Team Taylor Swift through and through. Two months after news broke that Swift and her former best friend, Blake Lively, had fallen out, TMZ reported that Kelce had unfollowed Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, on Instagram. Reynolds, for his part, is still following Kelce.
Kelce is also not following Lively. Lively also doesn’t follow Kelce, though she does follow Swift. Swift doesn’t follow anyone on her Instagram. Swift, Kelce, Lively, and Reynolds were last seen together in October 2024 when they went on a double date together at The Corner Store in New York City. Reynolds, Lively, and Swift were also in the audience at the Super Bowl LVIII, where Kelce’s NFL team, the Kansas City Chiefs, won over the San Francisco 49ers.
News of Kelce unfollowing Reynolds two months after TMZ reported that Swift felt used by Lively in her legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star and director, Justin Baldoni. According to court documents, Lively , Reynolds, and Baldoni met at Lively and Reynolds’ New York City penthouse while filming It Ends With Us in 2023 to discuss a scene that Lively had rewritten. According Baldoni’s lawsuit, Swift arrived in the middle of the meeting and “began praising Lively’s script.” The lawsuit continued, “Baldoni understood the subtext: he needed to comply with Lively’s direction for the script.”
According to TMZ, Swift was unaware that anyone would be at Lively and Reynolds’ apartment and only arrived when Lively told her to. The source claimed that Baldoni was just about to leave the two-hour meeting when Swift arrived. Per the insider, Swift introduced herself to Baldoni for the first and only time. The source also alleged that all Swift told Baldoni was how excited she was to see It Ends With Us because he was her friend’s director.
Another insider told TMZ that Swift believes Lively timed her meeting with Baldoni so she would arrive before he left. The source also reported that Swift was confused by Lively referring to her as her “dragon.” “It’s weird to say that about a friend,” the insider said. TMZ also claimed that Swift recently learned that Lively has been leveraging her name for a while and told a young actress that Swift “cast her” in a project, which didn’t happen.
While People reported in April 2025 that Swift and Lively’s friendship is on the med, Kelce’s unfollow of Reynolds shows that the tight end may not be as close to the superstar couple as his girlfriend.
“Blake knew she and Taylor would come back from this at some point and that their friendship wasn’t done for good,” a source told People. “Taylor was really hurt by this situation, so she’s relieved they were able to recover from this and put it all behind them because it wasn’t something she took lightly.”
