Update: Micah Parsons was every Cowboys fan after Tetairoa McMillan shocker

The Panthers wrecked the Cowboys’ dream draft scenario, and Micah Parsons apparently wasn’t thrilled about it.

It’s no secret that heading into the 2025 NFL Draft, many Dallas Cowboys fans were hoping Jerry Jones & Co. would find a way to bring wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan to town to pair with CeeDee Lamb.

And one would think it’s safe to say Dak Prescott wouldn’t have had a problem with that.

At 6-foot-5 and 212 pounds, McMillan is undoubtedly pro-ready as far as size and strength go.

Throw in the fact that he’s got 4.5-4.6 speed, ridiculous overall agility and athleticism, and the ability to make defenders look absolutely silly, and it’s easy to see why he was a popular choice among fans of America’s Team.

Now, there were still plenty of people who wanted Dallas to draft running back Ashton Jeanty, especially given his ties to the area, as he closed out his high school career at Lone Star High School in nearby Frisco.

But the Heisman Trophy runner-up was never going to drop to No. 12 overall, and he ultimately and predictably went sixth to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Truth be told, the first seven picks on Thursday night went as expected. Sure, the Jacksonville Jaguars traded up to No. 2 to get Travis Hunter, but that’s where he was going to go anyway had the Cleveland Browns stayed in the second slot.

Quarterback Cam Ward went first overall, of course, to the Tennessee Titans, and he was followed by Hunter (Jaguars), Abdul Carter (Giants), Will Campbell (Patriots), Mason Graham (Browns), Jeanty (Raiders), and Armond Membou. Pretty much a chalk draft up to that point, wouldn’t you say?

And that was obviously good news for the Cowboys—until it wasn’t.

At No. 8 overall, the Carolina Panthers were expected by most to go the defensive route, as they were heavily linked to Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker.

But that obviously didn’t happen, as they surprised everyone by snatching McMillan off the board, thus throwing a monkeywrench into the Cowboys’ plans.

And just like most Dallas fans, Micah Parsons was none too thrilled with how things played out.

Sitting in for a live draft show with Bleacher Report, the four-time Pro Bowler dropped his head in disgust as the selection was announced, silently mouthed a four-letter word we won’t say here, and then was emphatic in saying, “That was supposed to be our pick!”

Take a look.

#Cowboys Micah Parsons was really upset the Carolina Panthers took WR Tetairoa McMillan.

“That was supposed to be our pick. He was supposed to be opposite CeeDee Lamb.”

Gut punch for Dallas.

The Cowboys ultimately drafted Alabama guard Tyler Booker at No. 12, thus upsetting the fan base (and maybe Parsons) even further.

Settle in, Cowboys fans. It looks like it’s going to be another what we’ll call interesting draft in Big D.
