Chiefs fans, these are our best guesses for K.C.’s first-round draft pick

The 2025 NFL Draft is upon us. Former Kansas City Chiefs exec Mike Borgonzi is now in charge of the Tennessee Titans’ roster decisions, which means he’ll be opening the draft’s first round with his selection. From there, it’ll be a few hours before the Chiefs are on the clock at No. 31 overall.

As we await the Chiefs’ activity in the first round of the draft, we polled several of our contributors here at Arrowhead Addict for their predictions of what to expect. The opinions are varied, including whether they will end up making any official selection at all.

Here’s our AA roundtable with our first-round predictions for the Chiefs in 2025.

Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon

If the Chiefs stay put at 31, that’s an excellent spot for them to upgrade the interior defensive line with defensive tackle Derrick Harmon (Oregon). They’re Week 1 ready with the acquisition of Jerry Tillery and the re-signing of Mike Pennel, but both are better suited for rotational roles. [Stacy Smith]

Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State

Veach isn’t done addressing the offensive line and if he can find a trade partner, he’s gonna dance. [Patrick Allen]

Walter Nolen, DL, Ole Miss

I, unlike many, do not want to see an offensive tackle taken in Round 1. Call me jaded, but the Chiefs’ recent track record on tackle assessment in the draft process has been lackluster to say the least. Give me Walter Nolen to give Chris Jones a viable partner on the IDL for the first time in his career and to keep the Chiefs’ trajectory as a defensive juggernaut heading in the right direction. [Charles Robinson]

Nic Scourton, DL, Texas A&M

The Chiefs could use more juice on the DL, and Scourton has a real chance to be more productive in the NFL than in college. If he’s there, he would be a solid pick. [Lucas Strozinsky]

TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State

The safe pick here would be Henderson’s fellow Buckeye Josh Simmons, but let’s be a little more bold. TreVeyon Henderson is one of the most explosive offensive weapons in this draft class. He fits a need, and his pass-catching and pass-pro abilities make him a perfect fit for Andy Reid’s offense. [Lyle Graversen]

Chiefs try and make a tackle happen by trading up, but nothing materializes, so they select Treveyon Henderson with the 31st pick. [Christian Ainsworth]

Trade Down

The Chiefs will trade down and out of the first round, acquiring more draft capital to move back up in later rounds. [Zach Best]

Mykel Williams, DL, Georgia

I think the Chiefs will address the trenches in some form in round one. If they stay at pick 31 overall, I predict Kansas City will select Mykel Williams to add another pass rusher that the Chiefs can develop. [Braden Holocek]

Luther Burden, WR, Missouri

With Luther Burden seemingly falling on national boards, I don’t see how a man with his talent gets past the Chiefs at No. 31. A gamechanger with a high floor, Worthy, Rice, and Burden would be a ridiculous three-headed monster. [Sterling Holmes]

Landon Jackson, DE, Arkansas

A safe pick at the bottom of the first. Jackson is a three-down starter who is great against the run with a solid pass rush arsenal already. The length and versatility match just what Spags loves, so this feels like an obvious move with a nice floor. [Matt Conner]
