BREAKING!! Orioles Make Costly Call on Reliever, Leave Fans Scratching Their Heads Over Lefty

The landscape for the Baltimore Orioles promises to shift next season, setting the stage for some intriguing changes.

From an organizational viewpoint, the team is making important moves about who stays and who moves on in free agency, with notable names like Corbin Burnes and Anthony Santander already expected to exit.

Early on, we heard the Orioles decided to retain Ryan O’Hearn by picking up his club option. Now, more updates have surfaced about the roster configuration, as shared via the team’s official social media platform.

The Orioles have opted to exercise club options for relievers Seranthony Dominguez and Cionel Perez, but declined the option for standout lefty Danny Coulombe.

This decision sparks curiosity, given Coulombe’s past performance as a key bullpen asset.

Over the last two years, he’s garnered a commendable 2.56 ERA and a 156 ERA+ through 94 games and 81 innings.

The choice to let him walk, despite the relatively modest $4 million price tag, suggests the team might be cautious about his recovery from bone spurs surgery, which reduced his appearances this season to 33 games.

With Coulombe turning 35, the Orioles might be factoring in longevity and health concerns.

Nevertheless, by keeping Perez under contract at $2.2 million for 2025, Baltimore retains a capable left-hander.

In his three-season tenure with the Orioles, Perez has accomplished a 3.12 ERA and a 126 ERA+, though last season saw a dip in performance, possibly due to an increased workload as one of the few lefty options toward season’s end.

The decision to pick up Dominguez’s $8 million club option, the priciest move after O’Hearn, stands out as well. Following his acquisition at the trade deadline, Dominguez delivered solid results with a 3.97 ERA over 25 games.

At 29, the Orioles are banking on him replicating his late-season form for another year.

These strategic roster decisions underscore the Orioles’ approach as they prepare for another competitive season, aiming to balance proven talent with financial prudence.
