Well, this is not happy news:
The #Braves today recalled RHP Michael Petersen to Atlanta and placed RHP Spencer Strider on the 15-day injured list, backdated to April 18, with a strained right hamstring.

I don’t have much news beyond this tweet at this time. Strider wasn’t exactly back to his old self in his first start in over a year, but he certainly didn’t look like he had a hamstring strain. Apparently, he injured it playing catch before the game today, which is just shades of 2024 all over again. The timetable for his return is unclear, but the Braves will probably be super-duper-extra cautious at this point.
It remains to be seen how they handle tomorrow’s start at this point, or what the plan is. AJ Smith-Shawver can certainly be recalled, but he won’t be available for this turn in the rotation anyway, so it might be a bullpen game with a heavy dose of Michael Petersen tomorrow. Peterson looked decent in his single appearance with the Braves, but it goes without saying that this is a big blow to a Braves team that was trying to dig out of its early-season hole.
