Alex Verdugo leads off again, as Braves seek series victory over Twins

The lefty outfielder continues to play the role of leadoff hitter in his second game as a Braves roll with the same lineup that brought them a big comeback win on Friday. The Red hot Sean Murphy gets the nod again behind the plate, batting fifth, as Nick Allen continues to get run at shortstop and Jarred Kelenic brings up the end of the lineup in right field.

Meanwhile, the Twins shuffle their lineup a bit, going from facing the righty, Elder to the lefty, Sale. The biggest change for Minnesota, however, comes as they have scratched their starting pitcher, Simeon Woods Richardson for instead a bullpen game, as the 34 year old Justin Topa will be the nominal starter for the day. The Braves will hope their offense can show up against Milwaukee’s ‘pen and that Chris Sale’s run prevention can match the quality of his pitching tonight.

Today’s game will be played at 7:15 PM ET in Atlanta and can be viewed on FanDuel Sports South-Southeast.
