The Boston Red Sox got just about everything they could ask for in terms of results from their Triple-A affiliate Thursday.

Roman Anthony hit a leadoff home run and a grand slam in an 8-0 win in the first game of a doubleheader against the Rochester Red Wings. That performance just may have been hidden behind an exceptional pitching performance.

Cooper Criswell, Isaiah Campbell and Jacob Webb no-hit the Red Wings in the seven-inning contest with just two walks allowed and eight strikeouts on the afternoon. The no-hitter marked the second in franchise history.

Boston’s pitching depth has already been a factor this season and Anthony, who drove the Worcester offense behind the lights-out pitching, is doing everything he possibly can to join the Red Sox at the MLB level as fast as possible.

Worcester also sends Hunter Dobbins to Boston on Friday to start the series opener for the Red Sox against the Chicago White Sox at Fenway Park.
