Chiefs’ Tyreek Hill Reunion Trade Price Revealed As Rumors Swirl

At least we know the price for a reunion to occur between wide receiver Tyreek Hill and the Kansas City Chiefs. Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier, who said that Hill was not on the table for a trade, did state if a team wanted to offer two first-round picks, he would be compelled to listen.

“That is not anything that we’re pursuing. Who knows?” Grier said at a press conference Wednesday. “If someone wants to come and give me two first-round picks, we’ll consider it.” Grier is surely speaking hyperbolically. Still … Hearing about a possible reunion with Hill is nothing new for Chiefs fans. This has been in the news since January when Hill said he wanted to be traded out of Miami due to the team’s playoff futility, and him posting his worst season in three years,

Hill used to play for Kansas City before he was jettisoned out of town after the Chiefs’ first Super Bowl victory. The trade helped the Chiefs land Trent McDuffie in the draft, saved them money, and propelled them to two more Super Bowl wins in three appearances. It can be argued that Miami overpaid the Chiefs when the Dolphins obtained Hill. … and despite the stats, the big-win payoff hasn’t happened. “Two first-round picks”?

He is obviously setting a high bar for Hill that he knows no team will reach. But the GM didn’t exactly say “no” here. Grier is smart to try to peddle Hill for top dollar if he can. Given the fact Hill is coming off of one of his worst seasons in his career – and that at 31, Tyreek is a controversial figure with behavioral challenges and a $90 million contract?

Grier knows he cannot get top dollar for Hill, especially after the issue he had with law enforcement last week as Hill was involved in an alleged domestic dispute with his wife. The speedy Hill has credentials as a five-time All-Pro, eight-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion.

The Chiefs and the rest of the league are very familiar with Hill and his off the field problems. It would take a great need at receiver for the Chiefs to attempt to pull the trigger on any sort of trade. Our read: KC knows Tyreek better than any team … and simply isn’t that desperate.
