Braves News: Spencer Strider returns, Matt Olson shares frustration at offensive impotence, more

Well the Braves’ injured ace returned to action Wednesday and looked roughly like himself, but the offense had an abysmal outing again and spoiled Strider’s return. Matt Olson sounded pretty frustrated after the game and you can’t blame him. Olson in particular has been victim to some absolutely brutal BABIP luck early this season, but the offense has more generally underperformed to a large extent as compared to their talent and expectations. This is a continuation of a perplexing trend since last season with the offense featuring most of the same players who made up arguably the greatest offense in baseball history in 2023. Atlanta really needs all of their undeniably talented hitters to click and get some average luck.

Matt Olson had some choice words for the quality of play from the offense and the team lately, as the severe offensive struggles from last season have somewhat carried into this year.

Spencer Strider made his first start back from injury and didn’t quite look like his peak self, but put up a perfectly solid outing that the offense was unable to do anything with in a 3-1 loss to Toronto.

The Braves sent Zach Thompson down, as they brought Spencer Strider up in his place, as Strider returned from a long injury absence.
