BREAKING: Red Sox Pitcher With Extremely Nice Gesture While Rehabbing From Injury

Liam Hendriks was signed to a 2-year deal by the Boston Red Sox last February. Hendriks has never suited up for the team in a game, as when he signed he was recovering from Tommy John surgery that he had in 2023.

Slated to make the Opening Day roster, Hendriks battled a nerve issue in his elbow and started the season on the injured list.

He currently is with Double-A Portland on a rehab stint, with the plan to join the major league roster for their weekend series against the Chicago White Sox.

While with Portland, he did something extremely special for his teammates, as well as his opponents.

The Hartford Yard Goats are playing against the Portland Sea Dogs this week.

On X, the team account revealed that Liam Hendriks rented out a food truck in Hartford for his teammates. Also, the Yard Goats and all workers at Dunkin’ Donuts Park were welcome to partake as well.

The cost of renting a food truck for lunch would not be something that would significantly impact Hendriks, as he has made over $58 million (per Spotrac) during his playing career.

This is not the first time Hendriks has done this while in the minors. While he was a member of the Chicago White Sox, he had a rehab stint with the Triple-A Charlotte Knights.

During that time he provided lunch for his teammates and the opposing team, as well as the staff at the park, three times during a 6-game series. This was all after overcoming Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
